MLPs have long offered a way for investors to generate tax-shielded
income from underlying assets in various stages of the oil and gas
industry - whether upstream E&P, midstream, or distribution. OCI Resources LP (OCIR)
is a different sort of animal, though, as it is among a group of
relatively rare MLPs based around mining and refining/processing assets -
trona ore mining and soda ash production, to be specific. With its
cost-advantaged position and long-lived asset base, OCI Resources LP
should be able to generate years and years of distributable cash flow.
The one hitch is that these units are not all that undervalued today,
though a yield of over 8% is still appealing.

Investopedia: Infosys Hints At What It Can Do
Once a growth darling and a play on the rise of outsourcing, Infosys (Nasdaq:INFY)
has had a rougher go of it over the past few years an strategic
missteps compromised the company's growth and market share. More
recently, investors have cheered the return of NR Narayana Murthy to the
company as executive chairman and the vision he laid out for a return
to success based around improving employee morale/performance and better
appreciating the actual needs of customers.
It's much too soon for any of that to make a major difference, but Infosys's strong first fiscal quarter results are a positive step all the same. If nothing else, it does show that the company is not so far behind that it can't still win deals and deliver good results. While the shares have already bounced about 20% off of a recent low, a fair value in the mid-$50s gives investors a reason to hang on for a little while longer.

Investopedia: WABCO's Quality Already Reflected In The Stock
Investors have gotten pretty skittish about vehicle part/component
suppliers, even if quality companies overweighted towards commercial
and/or emerging markets are getting an incremental premium. With good
cash flow and solid (albeit erratic) returns on capital, WABCO (NYSE:WBC) stands out as a quality commercial vehicle original equipment manufacturers (OEM) supplier and unfortunately the stock reflects that.

Investopedia: Harman Looks To Carry A Tune
Like many auto components suppliers, Harman (NYSE:HAR)
is seeing sales pick up as car sales rebound in the developed world and
grow rapidly in emerging markets. The question for Harman investors,
though, is whether the company can continue to convince OEMs to stick with their systems in lieu of internal development or partnerships with smart device manufacturers.

Investopedia: Healthier IT Markets Helping Accenture
Outsourcing may still get a bad rap, but the fact remains that it's a major growth market around the world today, and Accenture (NYSE:ACN) continues to reap the benefits. At the same time, the company is hardly suffering in its consulting business. While the market has caught on to some of the value in this story, investors should yet expect to see further gains from this stock.
Good Second Quarter Numbers
Accenture reported that revenue grew 12% as reported or 13% in local currency. Outsourcing was again the growth leader, as revenue rose 19%. Consulting was a laggard, but still saw top-line growth of 8%. Revenue in the core Americas region climbed 13%, and the company saw solid growth across its addressed industry groups.

Seeking Alpha: Cummins - A Rockier Road In 2012?
Sometimes a company executes its plan so well that you almost forget that it still operates in a cyclical industry outside of its control. Such seems to be the case with diesel engine and power generator manufacturer Cummins (CMI). Although Cummins management has done a great job of emphasizing free cash flow growth and economic returns, to say nothing of international exposure that many companies dream of, the fact remains that several major markets are looking shaky or at best long in the tooth.
A Tale Of Three Fleets?
For the most part, major North American commercial truck builders like Navistar (NAV), PACCAR (PCAR) and Daimler have been pretty optimistic on the market conditions for new truck builds in 2012. Credit is pretty cheap and even if the trucking industry isn't going gangbusters, it still needs to update fleets.

Investopedia: BorgWarner Is In A Sweet Spot
Better gas mileage and lower emissions is winning combination in the automobile industry these days, and BorgWarner (NYSE:BWA) is one of the companies that makes it happen. Moreover, as more manufacturers and customers look into the potential of turbocharged diesel passenger vehicles, this is a story that could have legs beyond today's car market. BorgWarner isn't the cheapest stock out there, but in an increasingly growth-challenged market, it stands out in many respects.
Building Momentum in the Second Quarter
BorgWarner reported strong results for the second quarter, as revenue rose nearly 28% on a GAAP basis and surpassed the average analyst estimate (and came very close to the top of the range). Organic growth was a still-solid 15%. Engine components are the majority of the business at BorgWarner and sales rose 28%. Sales of drivetrain products rose a very similar 29%. Those numbers are quite solid in their own right, but even more so considering that global vehicle production fell about 2% in the period.

Investopedia: Cummins Keeps It Coming
Trucks, drilling rigs, bulldozers and longwall miners all share at least one thing in common - they're worthless without a good engine powering them. As companies as diverse as Caterpillar (NYSE:CAT), Joy Global (Nasdaq:JOYG), Komatsu (Nasdaq:KMTUY) and CNH (NYSE:CNH) continue to report strong demand and backlogs, engine specialist Cummins (NYSE:CMI) is leveraging this into exceptional profits.
New Quarter, Old Story
There is only so much a writer can do to make the Cummins story sound fresh after so many similar quarters. For the second quarter, Cummins reported that sales climbed 45% and exceeded the upper end of the Wall Street analyst range. Company revenue was pushed along by 53% growth in engines (which is close to two-thirds of sales), but 42% growth in components, 28% growth in power generation and 36% growth in distribution were nothing to cry about either.

Investopedia: Cummins Finds Another Gear
It looks like truck engine maker Cummins (NYSE:CMI) is back to its old ways by posting eye-popping growth and handily surpassing estimates. As the global truck market continues to grow, it looks like Cummins should have plenty of opportunities to continue to grow its already impressive business.
Better Results Down the Line at Cummins
Cummins seems to be one of the relatively few industrial companies not seeing any real margin pressures in the final results. Sales jumped 56% from last year's first quarter (though declined 7% sequentially), led by 68% growth in the engines business. Growth was strong across the board, though, as power generating was up 54%, components were up 47% and distribution sales rose 35%. (For more, see Truck-Makers Still Hauling In Profits.)
As mentioned, margins were not problematic. Gross margin rose 50 basis points from the year-ago quarter, while operating income doubled and those margins grew more than three full basis points. Also encouraging is that those margins grew sequentially - gross margin rose a full point on that basis, while operating margin grew about 70 basis points. (For more, see The Bottom Line On Margins.)

More M&A In Met Mining?
Global growth is back; and so, too, is demand for commodities. With that in mind, many major resource companies are looking to position themselves for the next wave with a variety of project investments and corporate M&A activity. Following relatively closely on the heels of the deal between Walter Energy (NYSE:WLT) and Western Coal, Rio Tinto (NYSE:RIO) is trying to buy more metallurgical coal assets of its own by making a bid for Australia's Riversdale Mining.
The Deal, As It Might Be
At this point, there is no "done deal" between the two companies, but Riversdale has acknowledged that Rio Tinto has made a bid for the company worth about $3.5 billion. While the Rio Tinto bid was reportedly at A$15 per share (a modest premium for a stock that has risen more than 50% since September), Riversdale shares were recently trading for more than A$16 - suggesting that investors expect (if not demand) a better bid or competing offers. (For more, see The Wacky Worlds Of Mergers And Acquisitions.)

Cummins Comes On Strong
Another piece recently published on Investopedia.
I definitely have a soft spot for industrial tech companies like Cummins ...
(please note: something a little goofy happened to the first paragraph in the editing process. We're working on it...)
