Seeking Alpha: Euronet Remains Leveraged To Global Financial Transaction Volume Growth

Facilitating millions of financial transactions, and taking a small cut along the way, continues to be a very good business for Euronet Worldwide (NASDAQ:EEFT). The company has established three roughly equal units (in terms of EBTIDA contributions) across ATM services, ePay, and money transfers - all of which offer solid transaction volume growth potential in the years to come. What's more, there's still a large runway of opportunities to add ATMs around the globe (and/or offer more services through them) as well as a lot of potential ePay transactions to capture.

These shares are up about a third from when I last wrote about them. I'm still bullish on the company and I think there's room for the company to exceed my revenue and/or margin targets. With my base-case model still showing some undervaluation on both a cash flow and EBITDA basis, I think this remains a solid GARP stock candidate.

Seeking Alpha: The Green Dot Roller Coaster Rolls On

Roller coasters are something of a Marmite proposition - you either love them or you hate them - and so too with roller coaster stocks like Green Dot (NYSE:GDOT). The basic concept of prepaid reloadable debit cards is a sound one and one that offers good access to the sizable unbanked/under-banked market, but I'm not sure that the company has the marketing and product power to withstand significant competition from the likes of American Express (NYSE:AXP) and Western Union (NYSE:WU).

The prospects of a contract renewal with Walmart (NYSE:WMT) could loom over this stock for most of the next year, and the unpredictability of the impact of the company's business development spending adds another variable to the mix. I believe the stock appears undervalued on even modest free cash flow growth assumptions, but investors have to ask themselves if they want to take on the elevated risks.

Seeking Alpha: Euronet Still Looking To Transfer Growth Into Shareholder Value

Around six months ago, I tagged Euronet Worldwide (EEFT) with the "interesting company, not so interesting stock" label and I can't say that I feel like I've missed much. The shares are up about 5% since then, trailing the S&P 500 and really only performing well after a money transfer business agreement with Wal-Mart (WMT). I'm more favorably inclined toward Euronet at this point, though, as I like the Wal-Mart agreement and the HiFX acquisition and the shares appear priced to offer a decent return.

Seeking Alpha: Euronet's Strong Move Underlines The Business Improvements

By no means is Euronet (EEFT) an unnoticed or unappreciated improvement story. With all three of the company's business segments looking stronger, shares of this financial services company have more than doubled in the past year. There are still several attractive avenues for growth in this company, but investors probably ought to moderate their expectations for further appreciation given the big move and the current valuation.

Investopedia: Green Dot Flashing Yellow

I'm not exactly sure why, but specialty finance seems to have more than its share of flash-in-the-pan growth stocks that come out of nowhere, post a couple of years of great growth, and then all but disappear from the scene. The risk of a repeat performance seems to weigh on the shares of Green Dot (NYSE:GDOT), as many analysts project robust revenue and free cash flow growth, but seem to take a "no, you first" mentality to the stock.

Investopedia: Green Dot Making Investors A Little Green

It's not uncommon for new stocks to give back a lot of their market cap as the initial public offering (IPO) buzz fades and initial buyers look to cash out. In the case of Green Dot (NYSE:GDOT), that readjustment period has been pretty difficult as the stock is off nearly 60% from its all-time high. Making matters worse, competition is heating up and management's decisions have left more than a few investors scratching their heads.

Not Quite Living up to all the Growth Hopes
Green Dot has logged three straight quarters of below-consensus revenue, and that frankly weighs heavier with institutional investors than the fact that that revenue is growing at a better than 20% clip. Where Green Dot is earning some credit is with the margins, as the company did pretty well in the last quarter with a two point improvement in adjusted operating margin.

Investopedia: Green Dot Looking Black And Blue

So far, prepaid debit card provider Green Dot (Nasdaq:GDOT) has followed a pretty familiar pattern - a successful IPO, some initial strength as big investment banks roll out coverage, and then a skidding share price as IPO buyers cash out and actual financial performance fails to match the lofty expectations of the IPO honeymoon. Even though Green Dot has disappointed some investors and there is still some regulatory risk, the stock seems to have skidded past a point where the fundamentals would support.

Q2 Good, but Not Good Enough
On just a casual first look, it might be hard to see why these shares have dropped to a 52-week low. Revenue rose 29% in the second quarter on a 23% increase in new activations and a 27% increase in active cards. Unfortunately, good as that was, it was below the consensus estimate for the second time in a row, and also represents ongoing deceleration in growth.
